Sarah Murdoch, daughter-in-law of Rupert Murdoch, owner of Fox News, has walked away from Australia’s Next Top Model after three seasons as host.
“Leaving the show has been a very difficult decision for me. Being entrusted to work on all aspects as host and co-executive producer has been a huge experience and I have enjoyed it so much.”
Advertisement As well as hosting the show, Murdoch also held the role of Executive Producer via her Room 329 production company.
The lasting memory of Murdoch’s hosting came in 2010 when during the live final, she named Kelsey Martinovich winner then corrected herself to name Amanda Ware winner instead.
"Oh my God, I don't know what to say right now. I'm feeling a bit sick about this. I'm so sorry about this, oh my God. I don't know what to say. This is a complete accident, I'm so sorry. It's Amanda... it was read to me wrong. This is what happens when you have live TV folks, I'm so sorry, this is insane."
The error was blamed on a miscommunication between the control room and the stage, yet following the events, Murdoch parted ways with the show's production company, Granada Australia, and shifted production to Shine Australia.
